Hello all! I am new to this board and have a question.

How many credit inquiries is a creditor allowed to pull within a certain time period? Is there a limit before it could be considered harassment? I have a creditor who has pulled it 12 times in the last 14 months.

Thanks in advance!

Kristy

Which creditor is it, if you don't mind me asking?

In any case, and assuming it isn't a collections issue where your state's SOL may not be up, you could send a non-PP letter requesting that they remove the inquiries.

It is a car dealership. I bought a car from them almost 5 years ago. They made a mistake on my trade in and didn't quote my pay off amount from the bank I had my car loan through. When they asked, I didn't know the exact number and said "9 thousand something". They paid the bank 9000 even on my trade in and came to me later and demanded I pay the remainder to them. It has since been sumbitted for judgement, I lived out of state and wasn't able to attend the court hearing.

I would search in the search box above for the non-permissible purpose (non-PP) letter and fire that off. SOL doesn't apply because you were already sued.

Per the judgment, you may want to speak to an attorney. There are ways to get cases reversed and a change of venue ordered requiring the plaintiff to come to you for a hearing, rather than the other way around.

Thank you, I will give that a try. Also, if I freeze my credit report with Experian, which is who they are pulling my credit from, will they be blocked from pulling my credit in the future? Or are they permitted to do so because I owe them money?
