unknown vendor reported me

My credit score dropped 10 points after someone unknown reported for for an unpaid debt. what rights do I have to dispute this. how do I find out who and what it is for. I think it may be for a debt from a collection agency from about 10 years ago.

Is this a collection agency or an original creditor? Are you open to listing the name?

the name of the credit people who reported me is anderson fin network/bloom it says first reported 04/09 but i remember this exact amount from a cell phone company which i never used the cell phone but took it back because it didn't work within the three days then they charged me a cancellation fee of 1155.00 it has to be this company because it is the exact amount but i know for sure that it was over 7 years ago,

I thought i read once before on this website that a person call request an inquiry of the credit reporting agency and if they don't give you all the details of the account within 30 days that they have to remove the account.

My first suggestion would be to pull your reports directly from the CRA to find out exactly what is being reported.

What is the DOFD/removal date being reported?

Is there an OC listed?

Oh i guess it most likely means date of first deliquency. DOFD Anyway it says not on record.

DOFD= date of first delinquency

OC= original creditor

myFICO reports won't have DOFD.

You need reports directly from the CRA.

I have worked researching all day on the process. i know who it is now, however, it is over 7 years old. what do I do if the cra verfified with the creditor and they give the wrong information i know for a fact that I opened this account aocount in 91 or 92 because it was with tmobile and I have had sprint for over 8 years. I also know that i never used it and took the phone back within the same day. If the cra investigates with the creditor and they give them incorrect information how do I fight this?

If the DOFD was more than 7 1/2 years ago, then the CA would have had to re-age the debt in order to list it on your report.

Read the re-aging thread and follow the suggestions.
