Experian Personal Info

I just got a letter from EX today saying to go online to check my personal info. So I go and check and they did not remove one thing. I sent them a letter with a copy of my DL, SS, and a recent bill and asked them to remove all wrong addys, ss 3's and spellings of my name and they didn't delete one. What should I do next?

You go to their website and check an updated report?

EX won't remove old info if any creditor/CA on your CR is using that info. EX is helpful in that they'll list demographic codes next to each account. You can go into the demographic section in the back of your report and see who is using what.

BTW, old addresses and old names won't ever hurt your report or score, so as long as it was either an address you lived at or closely resembles that.

Thanks, I guess I am stuck with all those then. But I can't believe they would not remove the incorrect SS #'s or the misspelling of my name.

This seems important but I don't understand how it helps relate an address or name mispelling to a creditor.

If your name is John Doe and you see a former name of Fred Doe, and EX isn't removing the "Fred Doe" name when it isn't yours, then it is likely due because one or more creditors are actively reporting the Fred Doe name (probably happened with a typo from a CSR somewhere). The demographic codes come in handy so you can link to that problem creditor and notify them to stop reporting it and it'll be removed off your CR. Same goes for old addresses.

Wow! All I can say is give them a call. A very nice young lady walked me through it and I heard a lot of Delete, delete, delete including inquiries.
