They will only report accurately.
So the only goodwill you will get is if they made a mistake.

Are you speaking from experience with GMAC goodwill attempts?

I am going to be giving it a try anyway. I'm going to first send it to the CEO and then try a few board members that are from Cerberus Capital. I figure Cerberus may care more since GMAC is their new investment. Letting them know that I'm interested in financing my next car and possibly refinancing my house with GMAC hopefully may sway their decision.

No and it does not matter. You have nothing to lose by sending a GW letter. I assume this baddie(s)is paid right?

My Mortgage is with Homecommings (GMAC) and I have an Auto with GMAC

Their responses were "We are required by califoria xxx and FCRA to report acculturate."

I have not pushed it up the chain yet. Let me know if you have any success.

It's for a paid off auto loan, paid off 11 months early actually. A lot of late payments on it though which doesn't help my chances. I took out an equity loan to make some repairs to my house and they made me pay off the auto loan with GMAC.

I'm going to be mailing it out on Monday so we'll see...
