if you are disputing something, does it show up on your report if you apply for something else? i read somewhere that while disputing, the information in dispute is temporarily deleted.. just wondering if it is true or not.

I have been in the process of disputing several items on my CR. I just purchased all three credit reports from MyFico today to check my updated scores and to see what has been updated. There wasn't anything about any disputes on any of the reports.

The information is not deleted.. However, there are some things FICO will not calculate while in dispute. Does that mean you should dispute in hopes of increasing your score? NO! This could easily backfire.

So is it okay to apply for credit while you have disputes or should you just wait? I have two items being disputed and also heard that you should not apply while disputing.

You can, but I would wait if you think the infomation that might be delete\updated will increase your score.
