Paid off our car today!

wow, what a weird feeling! people are always saying that you're almost always going to have a car payment...well not us! it's going to be great!

It's a awesome feeling!!! DH paid his off last year and mine paid off 4/2006.

Go give your car a good carwash and both of you will feel wonderful.

Super Congrats! I can't wait until Jan. or May 2010 when I pay off mines. The day I pay if off, I'm going to take it to get it shined up to feel like a brand new SUV.

Congratulations! Now you can:

Buy a bumper sticker that says "don't laugh, it's paid for!"
Resolve never again to have a car payment
Open a savings account into which every month you deposit the amount of your car payment

If you do (3) above right away then you can probably accomplish (2) above.

Corollary to 2. is to resolve never to have another new car. I have committed to purchasing "pre-owned" luxury cars. I have saved a fortune and always have a nice ride. Let someone else pay the instant depreciation. For me an auto note is just a tool to further improve my credit standing. Why should I have a $700/mo. car payment for a vehicle I can drive for < $200/mo.?

thanks llecs! first we are going to finish paying off our last couple of cc balances, & then that cash is going straight into our savings account. we have a honda, so it will hold up for quite a while longer.
