I am trying to figure out what my DOFD is to see when this baddie will fall off my credit report. From what I have read here, EQ uses the DOLA field to report the DOFD. Is this always true? On one of my derog. accounts it has the DOLA as Oct. 2002. It also has the the chart showing the 30 day to the 120 lates. It shows the first 30 day late on the chart as being Feb 2003. So which is the DOFD?

TIA

The lates will drop off one-by-one as they age off.

If the debt has gone on to collections or charge-off, then it makes a difference.

Am I saying / understanding that correctly?

Back in 2002, he missed one payment, and, subsequently, that made the next 10 months into 30-day lates. Eight of them are still reporting. They have started to drop off.

At first, I thought they should all drop off based on the date of the first late payment (delinquency). Nope. Because he kept paying and the account was never charged off or turned over to collection, I learned that each of those has to drop off one-by-one based on the 7-yr timeframe.

This was at a local CU, and they have said that they will remove the lates. Still waiting, but it's looking good. That's why, when someone questions when something will drop off, the experienced posters here try to dig down and get the original information. I now know how important that is.

I learn so much here from people like you.

Thanks for the replies. On my CR it is under accounts and was reported by the OC. It never showed on my CR as a collection account. However this account was sent to collections and they went after my ex for it. He filed BK this. I am listed as the AU on this account. I am just wanting to know when this will fall off my CR.

The last 120 day late that was reported was Oct 2003.

Message Edited by Diva12 on 09-06-2009 02:54 AM

Oh good, you're an AU. Get yourself removed as an AU ASAP and it won't report any more! No need to wait for someone else's problems to fall of YOUR report.

Everyone else...Since OP is an AU, can you dispute it as not yours? Or is the only way to take care of this is to get removed as an AU?

Since the OP knows they are an AU I would not dispute. It is a violation of the TOS to dispute accurate information. Contact the creditor and tell them to remove you from the account and the TL from your credit report.
