I had a $5720 balance on my personal loan and just paid $4000 on it bringing it down to about $1720. I've only had this loan for about 3 months. Will my score rise or fall? It is currently a 716. I will probably pay this down to about $200 and hold until about 6 months before paying off.

Based on what I have read here, your credit score should increase.

You will have less debt.

IMO, your FICO score will remain unchanged, with all else being equal.
