Hello

anyone have any feedback on this credit union? I can join it by joining some other non profit, probably join The Moon Society or something like that.

I like there cool space ship cards, that just might be worth three inquirie on each report. Have no idea IF i would even get a card anyway. My scores might be sub par at now 682 TU and 668 EQ (went down a couple of points)

I need to find one for auto financing...

They'll pull your Chex report too. I was denied for an older baddie (4 yrs). Seems like they let me know right away.

What is chex systems? Would they pull chex report for an auto loan?

I dont' write that many checks!

Chex Systems is a reporting agency that banks use to see if you have any prior bad history or abuse with other banks deposit accounts.

Above is an older thread that talks about it w/ a link to your free Chexsystems report.

Chexsystems is basically a CRA, but focuses on the banking industry. Any defaulted bank accounts, bounced checks (not all), and banking inquiries are on your report. It is boring and plain for most.

Many lenders like Citibank, NASA, and Alliant CU pull Chexsystems when opening an account. Like with all CUs, before you can apply for a car loan, you have to open a share account with them. Usually you can put in as little as a few bucks, but once you have the share open, you can then apply for any of their other products. When you go to apply for a car loan with NASA, you first have to open a share account and fund it. However, you can open a share and apply for a car loan at the same time, I believe (At the same time, I was able to app for a CC and open a share..or try to). If there's any derog info on your Chex report, they'll let you know immediately from their website and you won't be able to complete the app or fund the share account.

They pull Chex because they don't want any members-to-be doing the same thing to them as the applicant did to other banks...e.g. bouncing checks and overdrafting accounts. So they stop them at the door, for lack of a better term. Not every lender pulls chex.
