Weird inquiry on my report, whats goin on?

I had two inquiries come up on my report. One said Federal Govt. US Dept of Justice , The other said cbc/US Atty/ south carolina. I dont owe any fines, So Im not sure why the govt would run a credit check on me. I havent applied for any govt loans or jobs. can I get these taken off? I dont even know where to start or who to call to see why these were run

There should be an address or phone number (or both) to contact the company/agency that pulled your credit.

Then call them.

Please watch your reports and your mail for signs of identity theft.

You can also put a fraud alert on your reports.

the department of justice and the state attorney general are listed as who ran my credit. I do not see any address or phone numbers listed. Thats from what I see on the 'myfico" report. how do I get the phone number or address? Ive googled and cant find anything. this is really weird

The free reports you can get at http://www.annualcreditreports.com

will have more information than reports from third party sites such as myfico.

Ok Im gonna pull my full report. then see if I can get in touch with someone. Im wondering if CBC stands for criminal background check. so weird, I dont know why the DOj would run it. Cant believe no one else has had this run. The Experian pull is listed as USDEPTJUS

Experian list another Government pull as

comments:

Government Debt. This inquiry is scheduled to continue on record until feb. 2012

The only government debt I have is a student loan. any idea why DOj would be running this? Can I get it taken off?
