Equifax Call Center Reps are idiots!

Here is an interesting one. Been trying to get a 30-day late off my CR for a month or so now.

This is one my oldest TL...16 Years old. Late was in Jul 2003. TU dropped it with

no problem. EQ was being a pain. Well now for the good and bad news:

EQ deleted the late...GREAT! Finally!

EQ was showing an account open date of Jan 2010???? WTF

I called the card store and asked them what that was about. They said

"ah no, we never told them that. Your account is over 16 years old"

Called EQ back and told them what they said. EQ CSR said that

they would have to investigage it and get back to me. I said "hello,

your CR is showing that this account has an 81-month history and

that it was openned last month??? I said all you have to do is check

the report from yesterday and compare it to the one from today.

No joy. Waiting on them to contact card company. Idiots.

Was the 30-day late a mistake?

I am so careful as to what I disupte. Things can get much worse instead of better.

I agree. It it definitely a gamble.

It was not a mistake. I was just hoping they would delete it early like TU did. I had also sent GW letters

and apparently they worked. I know that it will get updated shortly but it just annoys me. Just venting

mostly.

just a note, disputing something that is correct will cause you a lot of heartache later on with the CRAs. they will list you as an abusive disputer, and your disputes could be dismissed later on down the road.
