My credit score just jumped 57 points.

My credit card balances didn't reduce and I can't see anything in my report which would explain this.

Has there been any change to the scoring system?

Why would my score jump this much when my circumstances haven't changed much, if at all?

Which score was it and where did you buy it?

It is often if not impossible to figure out why a scores goes up (or down). Obviously something has changed but the key is finding what that change was.

When is the last time you pulled your full, free reports at annualcreditreport.com? If it's been a year I would pull them again and compare them line by line to what was reported last year. Much can happen in a year's time and it's hard for any of us to keep up.

If you can't get the free reports right now it might be worth the cost to buy them dirctly from the CRA's.

Also here is a list of Abbreviations
.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference.

I did the 3 bureau score and they had all jumped that amount of points. As I say, my financial position hasn't changed much (if at all) so I must believe that it is AAoA as someone has suggested.

As I say, my financial position hasn't changed much (if at all) so I must believe that it is AAoA as someone has suggested.

As JM-AM said there is no 3 in 1 monitoring service that offers FICO scores. Which one are you enrolled in?

No one has been able to buy their own Experian FICO score since February of 2009. Creditors can pull Experian and also there is a CU (PSECU) in Pennsylvania that supplies that information to it's members only. You can only buy true FICO scores at a few places. One place is here at myFICO. I suggest you do an internet search for "myfico discount codes" to save a little money.

At one time you could also purchase your Transunion score at www.transunioncs.com but that site seems to be having problems lately. At www.equifax.com EQ will still sell you an EQ FICO score but you have to look very hard to find it.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference. There is no 3 in1 report that offers FICO scores. None. The TU (Transunion) and EQ (Equifax) scores you get here at myFICO are true FICO scores. The non-FICO scores (we call them "FAKO"S) cannot be compared to FICO scores in any way. You found out yourself that your FICO from here was actaully less than those worthless scores you got at FCR.

But I'm not picking on you. I certainly didn't know until I found these forums that most sites that sell "credit scores" don't sell FICO scores at all.

Lenders of course have access to all 3 FICO scores and those will always be accurate.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 9/09 pulled by lender 802, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference.
