Hi I just wanted to hear from anyone who has used Lexington Law and how their results turned out and in what time frame they were accomplished. I have been using Lexington for 7 months now. They have succesfully removed half of my negatives from Transunion and had little to no improvement with Equifax and Experian. I called to cancel and they talked me back into staying on with the service, they said for the best results it is reccommended to stay on with them for at least a year. I think I am ready to start doing my own credit report work. First I wanted to get some second opions on Lexington before I cancel.

Thanks In Advance

David

Lexington Law, credit repair company, can only do the same thing that you & I can do. I would definitely go ahead & terminate their services. Use the money instead for putting into saving or maybe making extra payments to pay an account down faster.

I have done many disputes on my own. Through experience you will need to be patient. As a rule of thumb give yourself, if needed, two months from the time that you send in any mail correspondence to the credit bureaus You need to allow reasonable time for the mail back & fourth as well as give the bureau time to investigate the issue.. Also, if the trade line (account) is accurate & verified then it will remain.

The process for improving your score will take some time. Due to an accident I had 2 bankruptcy filings, collections, tax liens, etc. I add to be patient & wait for them to drop off. The majority of adverse trade lines (negative) will come off in 7 years from when they were being reported. The only exception is a chapter 7 bankruptcy which remains form 10 years & tax liens that stay for 7 years after they have been paid or satisfied.

A credit repair company should only be used if you are willing to pay the money but do not have the time. You must also understand that negative accounts that are accurate & true will not be removed. Anyone can make false promises which can be devastating.

Cancel their services immediately. If anything, they will harm your credit standing.

All Lexington Law does is dispute every negative trade line you have, no matter if it is legitimate or not. This is something you could do yourself for free, but obviously skipping the trade lines that actually are legitimate. You are much better off to visit the credit repair boards and get some ideas from there.

Most of the time, multiple erroneous disputes will get your account flagged as a frivilous disputer, which isn't a good thing.

When CRA's tell me that I am a "frivolous disputer", that has happened with me with all three major CRAs. This is nothing more than a delaying tactic as well as a intimidation tactic designed to deter the less fortuitous consumer attempting self credit repair. Pure puffery, in my opinion.

When each of the CRAs (as well as many numerous JDBs/CAs) told me that my credit report entry disputes were "frivolous", I always ended up getting my way in the end.

Getting them to see things my way usually involved sending them well worded letters reminding them of their obligations under the FCRA. For the cases where they were really hard-headed, I had to send them an Intent to Sue letter along with a ready-to-file State or Federal Court complaint.

Agencies like Lexington Law will never affect your credit standing. This is just a lie that JDBs/CAs/CRAs like to perpetuate. In fact, I would dare any employee of these firms try to "affect my credit standing". I carry a big stick and I am not afraid to use it.

Just a friendly reminder to everyone that although it's ok to mention LL it is also one of the credit repair sites that is not allowed to be directly linked to because of the tactics it employs. A review of the forum's Credit Repair Discussion Guidelines reveals this:

Additionally, we cannot allow postings that include the promotion of any credit repair organization or the posting of links to web sites that promote any credit repair actions that are not allowed in these Forums. Actions such as:

Disputing as "not yours" information you know to, in fact, be yours, for the purpose of improving your credit is a form of unethical credit repair that's not allowed to be recommended in this community.

The same goes for recommending companies that engage in this kind of credit repair or linking to their sites. IMO mentioning a specific branch or office of LL comes dangerously close to crossing the line from mere discussion of a company to outright recommendation.

Also as far as disputes go the FCRA the CRA's the right to refuse to investigate disputes they deem to be "frivolous or irrelevant".

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference.

Thanks everyone for your opions I still have some stuff to consider before I cancel. Maybe a few of you can give me some suggestions about the biggest blemish on my credit reports here is the situation. I have several credit cards which I had fallen behind on the payments for a few months but since have payed them all up to date. I do still however have a balance on all of the cards. I have several 120 day late pays on three of the cards and the other two have 90 day late. I have two questions the first is it worth sending out goodwill letters to attempt to have the late pays removed from my CR while I am still carrying a balance on the card? The second question would it be more beneficial to my FICO score to pay all the cards off at one time or continue to make payments over the next year or so to build a good paymeny history?

IMO mentioning a specific branch or office of LL comes dangerously close to crossing the line from mere discussion of a company to outright recommendation.

I have already edited my post to remove my reference to a "specific branch".

Also as far as disputes go the FCRA the CRA's the right to refuse to investigate disputes they deem to be "frivolous or irrelevant".

You're absolutely right. And consumers have laws like the FCRA and FACTA (as well as any other state consumer laws) to ensure that CRAs/JDBs/OCs/CAs are held to the standards of accurate credit reporting.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782

"Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they've made a difference.

I vote that Lexington Law, and other similar companies, is a scam. There are multiple posts in here of other posters saying their credit was harmed after using their services. Definitely buyer beware.

I ask because the right to use the term "Semper Fi" has to be earned by actually wearing the uniform

So when did you serve?

[Off Topic]

Here's another Latin phrase: "Mea Culpa", in the most apologetic sense. I was never in the Corps, but I know of many that are active duty and retired. This includes my supervisor in the cubicle across from me (ex-SSgt) as well as the Col. in the cube next to me. In addition, my dad is retired Army.

In my experience, the only people (like you and me) who find Maj Payne funny are those who understand military culture. You know because you were active duty and I know because I was a child growing up and living in military bases and the communities. Those not in the know don't understand the humor. I have heard that this movie is essential requisite viewing in many ROTC units, also.

[/Off Topic]

As for Lexingon Law: it works for me, but it is incumbent upon everyone (who is considering using their services) to do research. YMMV.

I'm not "military", so to speak; but I do work for the military and I have a daughter who is currently in the military (10 years...just signed her re-enlistment papers for another four years!). I also have a sister who served in the Army, and a future father-in-law who is a retired Marine, and I also find Major Payne a funny, and very enjoyable, movie...

I had used Lexington Law about 2 years ago. I was too busy to do the work myself; work and grad school. Personally, it was a waste of money and the letter written by one of their associates,(not an Attorney) appeared to have be written by a 8th grader. Very poor grammar and consist of 4 lines of useless verbiage. I did not have one single negative mark removed from my CR. Besides, the CRA's challenged whether or not I personally wrote the letter. In fact, the person who wrote the letter signed my name. Well, after discussing the poor written letter with Lexington Law, they realized I knew more about credit than they did, They wanted to hire me LOL. Anyway, I fired them about 30 days later. Did the work myself and fix my own credit. All I need to do is, continue to pay my bills on time, pay more than min payment and no new credit unless it's a Mortgage ...

9/19: TU: 703, 8/26: 693

9/19: EQ: 681

9/19: EX: 702, 8/26: 695

GOAL: 740 - 780

Lexington Law has been a blessing for me... I've been using their services for about 4 months now focusing their attention on accounts that have been paid off but still have a negative past. They have removed the majority of these items and continue to impress me. I realize that I could have done it myself however I don't have the time to do that do to my work. I pay them $90 a month for their premium concord service but it has been worth every penny.

What method have they been using to have the negative accounts removed? I am finding that I am having difficulty with accounts that I still am carrying a balance on and perhaps that is why they were not so successful with having the negative removed from those accounts.

I have been very pleased with Lexington. I have concerns about a tax lien because they have yet to touch that after 6 months. But they have remove 19 derogatory mark in these 6 months. Well worth the money in my opinion.
