What is considered a RECENT derogatory?

Is there a time frame? A number of years? If that derog is paid in full would that make a difference?

Within the past year is the worst, then within 2 years, then it starts to matter less. It's still there, but not weighed as heavily. Paying in full does not affect the score - you would have to get a PFD agreement and get the derog removed for it to affect your score.

depends, before I got my chase 30 day late off I was recently dinged for that as recent derog.. It was in 08 lol

Yes, it can be. You will find that CCC will make up anything to deny you or give you a higher rate. I was told that my utilization was too high....it was 0% lol!
