However, in July, I had some financial trouble and changed the DMP withdrawal (and therefore creditor payments) to 7 days later for just that month. I now have a late payment for July reflecting on my credit report and Capital One is now a negative account. I spoke to them and asked if they could remove it as a goodwill courtesy if I were to bring the account current, but they claim it goes against their policy to remove any negative items from credit reports as it's not a bank error.
