All past credit history missing after re-fi.

I have a question I hope someone can help me with. Last year I purchased a car and also refinanced my mortgage. I pulled all of my credit reports (from all 3 agencies) just prior to doing so. The old mortgage was a joint indebtedness with my ex spouse and my name was listed as a co-borrower. Today I pulled my credit score (with the accompanying report) and NONE of my past credit history is listed. In the explanation for my Score #, there was a comment that my credit history is only 1 year, 4 months old (this is being viewed as a negative impact on my score). This is when I purchased the car. What happened to my "length of credit history"? My old mortgage should at least still show. I know that ALL credit history is supposed to stay on your report for at least 7 years. Thanks for your help.

There is no requirement for any credit accounts to be reported at all. Just that if they are they must be accurate.

The 7 years is only for negative accounts, like late payments, judgments, collections etc.

Were the past accounts in good standing or negatives that could have been deleted?

How many accounts are you talking about?

I am wondering if somehow you have a split file. Have you been pulling your CR a lot or done a lot of disputes?

Thanks for the reply. There were approximately 5 accounts in total. There was nothing negative about the one I'm most concerned with - the old mortgage. I haven't pulled my credit reports since a year ago and haven't disputed anything since that time. I'm concerned about the fact that the old mortgage disappeared from my report, due to the fact that I solely paid on that joint account for 15 years and that positive history is now gone. I'm now being viewed no differently than a young person who has basically never had credit. In the past, positive information has shown for nearly 20 years.

Yes, it was paid off in September 2012.

Closed accounts can stay for up to 10 years from the closed date.

I would contact the creditor and ask them if they stopped reporting and if so, why.
