Where to purchase FICO scores so I have a base starting point?

I've been searching and searching and can't come up with a good answer. Seems as though most people say you're better off getting the reports, which I did. I also see a lot of people with FICO scores listed as their starting scores so I know people are doing it.....

I'm interested in purchasing FICO scores so that I have an accurate starting score to base my progress on.

Recommendations? I've used CS and CK for FAKOs but was hoping to get some numbers that are a bit more accurate. I've done the annualcreditreport.com for my reports so I know what I need to work on.

Not many places where you can purchase FICO scores, other than here. Equifax will sell you a FICO score, but it's not easy to find on their website. The other CRAs don't sell FICO scores to consumers.

Would it be best to go through myFico then? I see they have a free 10 day trial of score watch which includes a FICO score? (Equifax score right?)

Yep, the scorewatch free trial is for EQ. And if you do sign up for the free trial and decide to cancel, make sure that you are within the 10 day window to avoid being charged.

Is that $31 price just scores? I thought I seen when I was getting my reports they were around $5-$7 each. I want to get the other scores as well. I'll have to look around and see where exactly the option is to buy the other two here.

You get the whole enchilada...scores and reports. You'll be able to see everything, with the exception of soft pulls.

Is there a way to get scores only? I already got my reports from annualcreditreport. Don't want to pay for something I already have if possible.

Was reading on the TransUnion site and they offered a free TU credit score with trial offer for 3-beareua credit monitoring for 7 days. Signed up for it and it says my TU is 699 * D?

Probably a bit late for this but if you want to cost effectively monitor your improvement you might want to look into a CMS. I don't think any of them offer anything than FAKO's but even FAKO's can be handy if monitored over time for a rough idea. You could then periodically pull actual FICO's to get a more accurate picture.

That was a plan I was looking into. I used CK and CS to get Fakos thinking that in a month or two I can always check them again to see what has happened. They might not be accurate but should at least show positive or negative progress?

That's where I'm at now but I'd like to get a better idea of my actual FICO scores for a starting point. EX 574 and TU 699 is a HUGE difference. I'm wondering if that TU score is a FAKO?

If i remember correctly the TU score from TU website is an fako, the only places you can get TU fico is here, from walmart, merrick. There may be other places, but those are the ones that i can remember right now.

+1. Equifax is the only CRA that currently sells a FICO score, although it's somewhat hidden on their website, as they would prefer to sell you an "Equifax Credit Score" ( FAKO ).

I read on the TU site they use VantageScore to calculate their score.

So I guess my only option for getting FICO scores is to pay the $32 and buy the reports that come with them from here.
