Fraud Alert Not Allowing Me To Get Reports... Please Help.

I have placed a Fraud Alert on my credit reports in late 2011. Now when I go to AnnualCreditReport.com, its not letting me get all three reports. Instead, it tells me to send a request in writing along with ID and proff of address. Is there anything I can do other than send a written request by mail?

Have you called the CRA's? I removed my Fraud Alert by calling them.

I was thinking of doing that but didn't know if that was a good or bad decision.

I actually had this same issue and had to call them.

It was really easy to do - the hardest part was just geting someone to talk to.

It turns out I had so many "pending" requests for getting my reports that they had to delete those in order for it to work.

Im trying to get a phone number to call, none seem to work. You happen to have the one you called?

I managed to get a hold of someone after 17 mins on hold. They were able to remove it. However, they said it can take up to 72 hours for the removal to be fully completed.

A FA has never stopped me from obtaining my report. In fact, a FA is only good for 90 days. An extended FA, however, is indefinite. However, you should be going directly to each CRA to obtain your reports as a FA by law allows you an additional free month within a calendar year. If you want the FA removed, then a simple call should do the trick. Good luck!
