I gave two credit cards, a secured card from Wells Fargo and an unsecured from Capital One. Wells Fargo recently increased my balance to 150% of my deposit(I wish I'd known this was coming, I'd have gone ahead and added that extra $100 to my limit I was planning on). Capital One now has the option of allowing you to request a limit increase. My request was denied because my credit score was unavailable. They use your TransUnion score to make the decision. The one thing I did notice is that the first time I tried to get a free report from them, I could only get it using my old address. I ran into a similar issue when I tried to use CreditKarma, just to see what would happen. Am I simply to assume that Capital One tried to get my score using my current address and that was the problem? My file with TransUnion now shows the correct address, but I didn't correct this until after the problems with Capital One and Credit Karma

You do need to have an account open at least 6 months for a FICO score to generate.

Actually now that I think of it, it might have been Equifax they check. I know people who always seem to have more problems with them than the rest combined.

I was able to get a score from Experian, MyFico, and TransUnion/Credit Karma. I have an open dispute with Equifax to verify correct address, phone, and employer in addition to some other things. I think I'll just wait until the dispute is over and try to order a score from Equifax(which I've done in the past). If I can order a score, them I'll have Capital One try again. I usually wouldn't worry about certain things being correct on credit such as number and employer, but Equifax is notorious for giving people a harder time than the other credit agencies when it comes to verifying your information to pull your file, and I also had difficulty removing a fraud alert in the past.
