Is this closed account affecting my AAoA???

So I applied for an Express credit card via the shopping cart trick in Jan 2014. Got approved for $250 CL. However, when I did that, for some reason their customer service people (at Comenity) told me it inadvertently opened two accounts (with 2 separate account numbers). I then told her that I only applied once and that I didn't need two, just one (obviously). She the cancelled while I was on the phone....No problem right? Well, both accounts showed up on my credit report....One shows open (as it should) and the other one shows "closed" and on the notes it says "closed per customer request". Both shows an original credit limit of $250.

My question is, does this affect my AAoA? My AAoA already took a hit at that time, since I went on a small app spree after appying for that card. Although, I'm ok with the account showing closed, I'm not ok with it affecting my AAoA. Should I request it to be taken off my report completely, since it really wasn't my fault the account generated twice anyway??? If it's helping me, I want to leave it on there, but not sure if it's helping or hurting me. My AAoA is showing 1 year, 10 months right now. I would like to get that at least over 2 years, if requesting it to be taken off would do that..... HELP! :-))

Both open and closed accounts factor into AAoA, so I assume the closed account is included.

What about the CL? Since the AAoA factors in on a closed account...

No, CL is not factored. I would suggest asking them to remove that 2nd account from your CR because you didn't open it.

Opening the second account affected your AAoA. Closing it has no effect since closed accounts remain for 10 years.

Utilization is immediately affected by closing an account but you're where you should be on that matter.

I called today and asked them to remove it, they obliged. Will come off at the end of the month. :-)) Thanks y'all <==== yes I'm from Texas
