I have been lurking around this form (before signing up) and looking around and getting tips on how to expand my credit profile. I guess I'll start with some background of myseld and how I got my credit start....

When I was 17 I applied for a job as State Farm (I had high ambitions), and called almost everyday until I finally got hired!!! I began doing just office work for the agent until I obtained my bank license (State Farm Bank). I was then certified to do vehicle loans (dealer purchases//refinances//etc..) and credit cards. I So from an early age I was (credit concious) because I saw hunderedes of people become declined from stupid mistakes they have made.

Well fast foward to my bday (June 22) and I turned 18. At this point I had been working at SF for 10 months. The truck my mother had bought me was stolen a month before so I wanted to purchase a new truck for myself. Again I had high expectations at a young age, so I ended up purchasing a truck June 28. I bought an almost new Silverado for 28K with a 0 CS and help of a family member who reported an 788. The loan was about 6% through Ally. Fast foward 4 months later i refied my own with SF for 3%, got a SF student CC w/ a $500 limit.

Now fast foward to these last few months I wanted to expand my credit profile so in Feb I pulled the trigger on a Walmart Credit Card and was approved @ $400. I also pulled the trigger on a Buckles credit card approved @ $500. I was happy but really wanted a CC with an higher limited. I looked on here for about a month and decided to pull the trigger on an Chase Freedom card - instantly approved @ 3K in March. I have been on time on all my payment with all cards and loan payment thus far.

Fast foward to yesterday.. with the help of this community I learned the backdoor info for Walmart. I saw that my CL was increased automatically to $500 (woohoo only $100) and I thought my CSores were high enough for more, I backdoored and was instantly approved for $1500. Now today I was searching the community again and saw a few stories about the Amex Everyday card. I have always wanted an Amex (being an highly wanted card) and decided to pull the trigger today... INSTANTLY appoved online for $3K limit!

Just wanted to tell everyone thanks for the great advice and I hope I can help all young people like me build credit.

So I'm still only 18 (soon to be 19) and have the following

Vehicle Loan (sole owner) $28K @ 4%

State Farm Student Visa @ $500

Walmart @ $1500

Buckle @ $ 500

Chase Freedom @ $3000

American Express Everyday @ $3000

-----------------------------

Total CC limits= $8500

Thanks! I do everything I can to keep my credit in shape. Working for a bank I keep track of interest rate trends and I know they are getting ready to sky rocket again... I just want to be able to qualify for the lowest rates possible when I'm ready to purchase a home one day!
