Credit Karma changed to vantage score from FAKO

Logged in today to see that credit karma has changed including the scoring model its using, i quite don'nt like the new website layout and the fact that its using vantage score now, it is almost 50 points less than what myfico is showing me for both tu and eq,

The upside is that it is also showing equifax now, so thats good to see, i can now know more info about cr instead of just the score from myfico.

Has anyone else notice that the vantage score on KC is a lot lower than what you see on your MYFICO?

Never noticed anything from CK other than account notifications like INQs and what not... I LOL @ the scores.

They have always listed your Vantage Score in addition to their regular score.

yes they did, but now i no longer see their regular score and only see the vantage score which rates me as fair, compare to myfico which puts at "VERY GOOD"

Same interface for me, no change noted.

I think it updates weekly, so next week this change may be seen.

They are rolling out the update gradually, so not all users have it yet. My BF still has the old one. My login redirects to a beta site that shows the Vantage 3.0 score - been on the beta for a few weeks at least. I think this is a newer version than the Vantage score they provide in the old interface, because that one ranged up to 900, and this one tops out at 850. Equifax was rolled out in the beta yesterday. I think this is fantastic - now have basically on-demand access to both TU and EQ credit reports!

Well since we don't use CK for the scores and just for the report I'm looking forward to the change then.

Thanks for the info. I noticed that they added EQ. So that is two credit reports weekly for free. I use them for the monitoring and the Reports. Their scores are wild, but a decent site.

The site is different. It no longer has the credit calculator, that allowed you to plug in new credit lines etc.. to see how affected your score

A non FICO by any name is still a FAKO.

It's a FAKO. Different scoring models (even when comparing FICO to FICO) will produce different results. Don't rely on one scoring model to determine a score generated by a diferent model -- and/or using different data.

For all old existing Credit Karma members. Go to this website https://beta.creditkarma.com/auth/logon/logout and use your same login/password and you'll see your new Vantage 3.0 scores for both Transunion and Equifax. Plus, a new website layout.

Ah but we can dream can't we? I'm listed 760+ / 850 on VS 3.0.

Ah well, maybe someone'll start underwriting on that model someday and I can go take advantage of that score.

I wish my fico scores were as good as these vantage scores lol Mine went up almost 60 pts. The biggest difference is how each model sees collections (amounts and age). I have a small medical collection I am dealing with to get removed. Other than that, I refer to myfico for my scores. If I am in doubt and truly need my score, I will purchase it direct. That is what I plan to do when we apply for a mortgage loan.

Only purchasable score worth anything for mortgages is the Equifax Score Power product these days. I really really hope they don't upgrade that until after the GSE's switch their underwriting criteria... which may take another decade at this point.
