I say check the dispute website of the CB's to see the status of your disputes. I disputed with TU only to find out that due to some system glitch my disputes never went through, so I was told to do them over.

I have read about lots of folks who have "disputes" listed in the CR's, as account in dispute, or some thing like that.

I have several disputes out some for a few weeks now, and find no notes about that in any of my TC reports. They all continue to show their original status. Does this mean I did not file the dispute right, they are diregarding my disputes, or do they only sometimes change the status to "disputed"?

A few disputing as to old, some should have aged off by a few months.

CRAs don't have any wiggle room. That have to note it's disputed or include the statement you sent them. If they don't, they are in violation.

15 USC 1681i(c)

http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/scripts/ts_search.pl?title=15&sec=1681i

Notification of consumer dispute in subsequent consumer reports

Whenever a statement of a dispute is filed, unless there is reasonable grounds to believe that it is frivolous or irrelevant, the consumer reporting agency shall, in any subsequent consumer report containing the information in question, clearly note that it is disputed by the consumer and provide either the consumer's statement or a clear and accurate codification or summary thereof.

However, they don't have to absolutely follow your punctuation and capitalization.

Reporting as in dispute is not supposed to affect one's FICOs, but even if it did (and FICO says not so I supposed we have to believe it ) it would only be temporary.

The CRA is in violation for not reporting it, in some way, as in dispute.

Dispute via CMRRR.

Watch for the RRR green card.

Check your CRs and call the CRA if it ain't reported as disputed.

If you're using TC, you could call TC corporate as they seem to be fairly on top of their game.

Message Edited by Noah_Bodie on 07-05-2007 03:30 PM

There are some things FICO will not calculate while a TL is in dispute. Does that mean you should dispute in hopes of increasing your score? NO! This could easily backfire.
