Hi fellow rebuilders. I tried to submit a dipsute with TU online and received the message that the Request Failed. It says it will require manual processing. It still gave me a file number and report date. Does that mean that it will automatically go to manual processing or do I need to contact them to start all over? TIA!

If the nature of your dispute permits, why not file a direct dispute, and cut the CRA out of the processing?

The consumer has the option, with benefits, to filing a dispute directly with the furnisher unless the dispute relates to personal identfier, informmation, credit inquiries, or public record information. Direct disputes have the primary benefits of ensuring all information and arguments are received by the furnisher, and not sanitized by the CRA, while possible avoiding a pending dispute flag and having the results come directly to you.

It means that it has automatically gone to manual processing. When it's complete, they'll send you a copy of your credit report by mail.

So I called TU to find out. I gave the CSR the file number from the online attempt and explained the situation. "Christopher" (clearly not his real name) said the online attempt failed and that I could have him take the dispute over the phone, so I did. Is it possible for there to be a duplicate now? That would be my luck.
