Hello, i am looking into building my credit up passed the 700s. my credit score through experian is 695. And my credit rating though EQ and TU is 620s. I couldnt figure out why until i noticed that my local credit union i have been going through since i was 18 only sends to experian. Which i know isnt all that uncommon. And that is causing me to have a short credit history with the other bureas. My question is, is there a way i can get my oldest accounts to EQ and TU which will increase my average age account significantly by sending letters or calling them. Or do i have to go through my local credit union to see if they can report my history to EQ an TU.

Thanks for any type of advice i would appreciate it.

Josh

Yes you will have to ask your credit union to report to other CRA.

You can certainly ask, but they may not be set up (registered, software etc) for the other agencies. For example these are the requirements to report with Transunion: https://www.transunion.com/data-reporting/getting-started

Perhaps you are, and the difference is what you suspect it is.

But when I was first learing about these things (not that long ago), I was confused because my FICO 8 from Experian (which I got from American Express) was 100 points higher than my Vantage scores from Equifax and TransUnion (which I got through Credit Karma). Then I realized I wasn't comparing apples to apples. The scoring models are just different and in some cases (like mine) produced significantly different scores.
