Macy's late payment somehow got removed from TU

I just checked my credit report, my 4 year old 30-day late got removed from my TU report. I haven't done anything. Has anyone else experienced this with Macy's? Is there a possibility that this could be a mistake and the late could reappear again?

I've seen instances where some creditors stop reporting late payments after a certain amount of time. Normally at least two years and only if the account was then brought back current. So it's possible you got lucky here. Worst case it shows back up later and you're no worse off than you were.

I thought they had to report it to the CRA once only, and the CRA would keep the record. From what you're saying, they have to keep reporting it or it disappears? I'm really confused. The fact that it only disappeared from TU is even more puzzling.
