PenFed Score Update?

Hey,

How often does PenFed update our free NexGen score? My last pull was on 12/1/2015.

I don't think there's a set date; probably whenever they do a global account review unless you have some other change that triggers them to pull a new report / score.

FICO NextGen (either version) is one of the worst freely available scores, worse than VantageScore even; as a result, while I have a rainy-day PLOC there (which I guess I should use a bit to keep the account active?) the Penfed FICO Score is at best just an added bonus.

They tend to do it every quarter. We will probably see a March score sometime in April.

Thank you for contacting PenFed.

The FICO scores are loaded quarterly in January, April, July, and October. When
loaded in October, the scores will be from end of August/beginning of September.

What's the rush? Do you have or intend to apply with another creditor that uses the EQ FICO NG2? From what I recall, PenFed's quarterly preapprovals and the score updates are released at the same time.

Probably two different systems and they only load the data into the second system from the first system once a month would be my guess.

Old school, but that's CU technology stacks for you.

Never said I was applying for anything or rushing. Just want to see what my EQ score is with them.

Last year the pull dates according to Penfed were, 2/24, 6/9, 9/1 and 12/1. My EQ credit report from August showed a Penfed AR on 2/24 and a PRM on 6/30. Note, the CR didn't show a pull on 6/9. Penfed started showing the scores in mid 2014, but I wasn't a member until near the end of 2014. The scores always show up on the first day of the quarter.

I too will be interested to see if I still have pre-qual offers or if Penfed has decided I am no longer worthy.

Well according to Equifax which I just did a dispute (wrong current address) Penfed hasn't done their AR pull yet for the quarter. Maybe they will by the time Equifax finishes processing my paperwork and I get the resultant full credit report.

Where do you see the credit score? I've had an auto loan with PenFed for nearly 3 months, I don't see the score anywhere when I login. Thanks.

It should be on your main page at the top under date and last login.

I just got off the phone with a CSR and she told me the next pull is in April I hope this helps
