Does anyone know the risk relating to disputing multiple inquiries? I was told that if the disputes fail then a note is placed and if you get a lot of those that can be bad. It may be a sign to a lender that you attempted to heavily dispute your file.
Does anyone know how Lexington Law does their so called magic? And how they might deal with this situation? They claim to be able to remove all kinds of stuff. I think it has to do with the 30 day rule - the idea that there must be a response within 30 days and if they do not respond then the dispute must be removed. So maybe they bombard the agencies and they can’t keep up.
I guess there may be a new law that states that they must investigate within 30 days so that would impact this tactic right?
We ordered a report for my wife and her report came with her maiden name is that normal?

If the inquiries are legitimate inquiries, you can dispute, hire lexington law and it still won't be removed. So save yourself the money and time and let them age out. The inquiries don't have a huge impact after one year.

I am responding separately to each question I hope that is correct. I am just finding many errors on my report. Items that have been settled but that don't know that they have been settled. And many other erros. And I am trying to learn abut the process in general.

For sure no illegal ideas for me just wanting to learn how to get rid of those items that are in error. For example, I settled a personal loan; my settlement letter says my report will show settled for less than full balance. Howefver, it reads that it was not paid at all.

Well I did not do a great job on my post. I am learning. I meant all remarks of any kind. Not just injuries. And honestly I have no plans of any kind at this point. My goal is to learn all about the process. I start a new job that may at times require me to offer advice about these issues. I just wish to learn all about the process. Did you know that if you dispute a charge on your credit card like maybe something you bought that you were unhappy with that the credit card company can place a remark (DRC) on your report? I never knew that! Thank you for your responses and helping me learn more about this process. WHOA! Your last question I am confused and here is why: my wife and I got married over 16 years ago. She has not used her maiden name in forever. She has never had a card or an account with her maiden name and yet her report came with her full name including her maiden name only. Is that unusual?

If your wife has accounts that are from before you were married those accounts could contain both names even if she changed it as her maiden name was associated with that account. Assuming she changed her name when the two of you got married, I would think any accounts opened AFTER that point 16 years ago would have only contained her married name... however, BOTH names would still be associated with her credit reports I would think as both would be found somewhere on her accounts. If she closed all accounts that she had prior to you getting married, those accounts would come off her reports in 10 years and possibly the maiden names would drop off as well?
