Unpaid Collection removed from TU without a dispute

My friend checked their TU credit report and found that an unpaid collection was removed from their report without any dispite. The DOFD was February 2018. The collection did not fall under the National Consumer Assistance Plan's guideline for collection reporting.

Do you think TU removed as a part of the National Consumer Assistance Plan's compliance?

CRA policy instructs debt collectors to delete a reported collection if their collection authority is terminated and the debt is unpaid.

The likely reason is either that the debt collector has their assignment terminated, or if they owned the debt, they sold it to another.

Thus, I would speculate that the debt collector deleted rather than that the CRA excluded or deleted.

So do you think it will be a matter of time before its deleted from the other two CRA?

It's more like it will be a matter of time that it reappears on your files under a new debt collector.

This could have aged off your reports, if you meant to say Feb 2008.

Otherwise, Donny is correct. It's a matter of time before it reappears.

It's more like it will be a matter of time that it reappears on your files under a new debt collector.

It wasnt removed from the other two CRA and its past the SOL, and scheduled to be removed by 2/18.

Im thinking TU removed as part of the National Consumer Assistance Plan compliance as the collection does not fall within the new reporting guidlines.

The DOFD was February 2011, so it would drop off around February 2018.

Not sure. I think it was some insurance claim.

FYI/Update:

The collection item was removed from my friend/SO's EX report on 7.14.17.

The DOFD was 2/11/11 and both TU and EX stated it was scheduled to be removed on 11/17 when the collection was reported.

The other posters brought up a good point that the deletion from the TU report could have been a result of the collection that was either sent back to the originator or resold. Although we are not 100% sure, we think the deletions are a result of National Consumer Assistance Plan guidelines. Reasoning being that if it was sent back or resold, the original collection would have been deleted from all three CRAs at around the same time period and reappeared with notices sent by now. Also, the DOFD was 2/11/11 and past our state's SOL.
