Credit Karma has Change for the Worst

Since the update, we can no longer see our past reports, cannot see when a hard inquiry will expire, and a summary of the latest changes to your credit report is removed as well.

I just logged in and here is what I found to assist you. The data is still available but just within hyperlinks with the update :-)

View Past Reports: Login or click "Overview" --> Credit Reports --> Under your score there is a link to go to that specific report. Top right of the page there is a "View Report From". Here you select from drop down menu which past report to view.

View expiration of inquiries--> Login or click "Overview"--> Credit Reports --> scroll down to Credit Inquiries --> Select which report you want and selct the link titled "View inquires on your X credit report --> this takes you to your individual inquies. There will be 5 columns titled as followed for you to see Creditor Name \ Inquiry Date \ REMOVED BY* \ Type. This is where you view that data.

Changes: This appears within Overview. Once you find the section you can expand it or click View more.

Thank you. When I hover the mouse pointer on "My Overview", there are only four options in the drop down which are Dashboard, Score details, Accounts and Dispute. There is no option in the drop down for "credit reports." And I do not see a hyperlink under my credit score (which would lead to past credit report), only a circled i in blue that informs scores are based on Vantage 3.0.

Keep in mind that the credit report that Credit Karma has for you is missing things like late payments that are more than a few years old, but still in your file for creditors to see. I got burned when I thought I had no marks, and I found out that actually I had several. None of the free services show them. There is more than that, but I posted a long post about that, so I won't rehash it here.

But the free services are much worse than you think.

I don't see much change in my interface?

I always went to full report and then could select a prior report date from there if I so chose, still working for me:

I'm not finding my past reports either. In the My Overview menu, all I see are Dashboard and Score Details.

Not sure why I find myself defending CK, but I can't agree with your opinion and here's a late as old as it gets on a Transunion report still listed in CK. If none of the free services are showing them for you but they are for others, the problem is likely with your file and the tradelines in question, not with the services. FWIW my opinion of CK is it's absolutely excellent, best in market for important things like getting access to 2 of the bureaus data and being able to retreive historical reports... ignore the advice, the interpretation, and to a lesser extent the scores and it's fantastic.

I echo Revelate here. For a free service Credit Karma is actually pretty good for showing what you have on your accounts more or less. I would just mainly use it as a monitoring tool and get an official report from CCT and/or myFICO when you got some credit decisions coming up and you need to know where you officially stand.

Apparently they dont notify of new inquiries anymore either. Apped for something yesterday that pulled TU never got a notice of it.

For a free monitoring tool its great. Vantage scores don't do a thing for me. Their rec. I take with a grain of salt.

Ah split testing the new UI; other than the awkwardness of learning something new, how does it look and feel compared to the old one which I thought was a little kludgy personally in terms of too many mouse clicks and scrolling to get to where I wanted?

It's really hard to tell because both interfaces aren't available. But I think they've eliminated things. I don't see the old reports, my names, or employment history. And the word "report" doesn't seem to be used at all.

There's a list of accounts like before, but I don't know if the information accompanying the accounts has changed. Payment history only goes back through 2014. I don't know if that's a change or not, but in comparison, freecreditscore.com goes back the full seven years. You also see your score history for the past two months. And you get information on the six credit factors: Credit card use, Payment history, Derogatory marks, Credit age, Total accounts, and Hard inquiries. As far as I can tell, that's about it. Most of the menu items are trying to sell stuff.

I agree. When you begin rebuilding, it is an excellent way to see when certain baddies, charge offs, etc may disappear as well as new good information without spending about $20.00 to get each update. The scores are amusing although they can assist you in "score trending" so that you can see if you are sinking, dog paddling, or swimming to new your new positive goals.

My TU Vantage score on CK has dropped by exactly one point today, from 684 to 683, while my FICO went from 624 to 640. I'm pretty positive that I'll recover that point and more once my next payments post and my Amazon Store Card goes back down below 30% util again.

Heh I'm always entertained by VS, though it flatly hates my 10/2015 30D late on TU apparently.

707 -> 747 today with the tax lien getting airstruck from TU... but both my EX/EQ with tax lien are still over 800.

CK shows everything my actual bureau reports show. I haven't noticed any differences.
