Im sitting at my desk crying!

Im literally sitting at my desk crying as I type this. Tears of joy . My credit score just shot up 65 points!!! And for some reason it made me very emotional. I guess because I have been working so very hard on my credit. Trying to fix the mistakes I made when I was younger. A year ago I didnt even qualify to get a payday loan. No one would extend me any kind of credit. I was so very frustrated and depressed. And then I found this forum. I thank God for this forum and all of you who contribute. I literally couldnt have done it without you. I am still not where I want to be. But I thank God I'm not where I was. I started out with a 403 Fico score . Today my transunion shot up from 596 to 656 today. I have no clue what changes or what casued the jump. It didnt say tbh. I mean thats a huge jump. And I'm just so proud of myself for doing the work. Thank you to anyone and everyone who contributes to this forum. You guys are rockstars!!!!

Huge congrats on the awesome score increase!

I've moved your thread to 'Understanding FICO Scoring' so that you can get additional feedback on what in particular might have contributed to your increase... there's no reason to slow down now!

Not to mention, there might be some folks who could use some of your data points to help them on their own FICO journey!

Congratulations on the huge increase! Credit can be emotional because we also tend to remember what circumstances led us to the low scores - job loss, divorce, health issues,etc and we feel that we are continually being punished for that rough patch in our lives. Remember that it was a road bump and you are wiser and are stronger in the credit game, Best of luck on your credit journey - you are seeing great results!

Congrats! I can relate. I made a lot of stupid credit mistakes when I was younger. I had always had collections and charge offs and late payments were my every day thing. But in early 2014 I decided to change that. We needed a car, it was a necessity not just a want and had no money so we went to the used dealership to get one. I ended up getting rejected a lot until i got approved for one. With a monthly payment of 525 and interest of 18%. Thats all I could get. This is the time when people were still getting like 0% or 1% car loans. I took it I was lucky to even get that. I made a year of payments on time and then received what felt like an illusion. A preaproval from Cap ONE. in Sept of 2015. I applied and stared at my computer waiting for a rejection. To my surprise I was approved! for 750. I was in Shock! Couldn't believe it. My score was about 590 after a year of payments and a 750 CL. I mean I still have 35 Late payments sitting in my report. I was able to get many credit cards and my score is 712 TU Fico. But i said no more. I have to change my credit habbits. Im sure you will also rise to 700 club. you are almost there. Good luck!

So many of us have been where you are at now.

You have to do the hard work from wherever you start. At some point you will see when the hard work pays off. Then you go to the maintaining mode where your scores are high and you see little change. That is also a great feeling.

Keep up the good work and you will meet your goals.

Great stories indeed, many of us endured similar credit issues in our past. 800's are totally possible if you remain committed, dedicated and determined never to fall into the finacial death trap ever again.
