Credit Relief Services?

What are your thoughts and feelings about using credit settlment/relief companies? I have two loans that I want to possibly use them for.

I've never used one, but they always sound extremely sketchy when I hear their ads on the radio or see a low budget commercial on TV. I'd do a lot of internet searching and reading about whatever company you are considering before I thought about pulling the trigger.

Personally, I think if you're going to attempt to settle for less that you can do that on your own and keep yourself in the driver's seat.

I'd always recommend trying these type of things yourself first, as you may be surprised how successful you are handling it on your own.
