Help! Synchrony bank

Long story short version! Had a old navy visa from gm, 3years ago synchrony bank took over. At about that time I received notice I requested a cli and it was denied? Called them and reported that I never requested cli, they said they would check into it. I never charged another item on the card and now they say I owe 2000 dollars and have reported to credit bureau blah blah blah. iHave been in contact with numerous reps who tell me they will get to bottom of it and they never return calls.The latest rep said she was getting somewhere and that another account had numbers similar to mine and now she too has disappeared never to be heard from again! I have written letter to CEO to no avail, reported them to FTC etc with no luck. If I owed that 2000 dollars I would pay it but since I did not charge that amount I just can't do it. ?Any suggestions by the way I have all statements proving my story!

I'm confused as to what is going on here... are you saying that the CLI request and the claimed $2000 debt are somehow being mixed up? If you never used the card, you clearly don't have a debt with them, so I would think disputing it would be quite easy. I'm assuming you have a bunch of negatives racked up as a result of this on your credit report?

Correct the cli and debt is not mine but was put on my account somehow when it transferred from ge to synchrony. We quit using it when it was apparent they were not going to fix it. We have been through numerous reps who say they will help and never do? To who and how is the best way to dispute?

I would snail mail the CEO and email the CEO again. Use the Draper, UT address. The Office of the President is always very quick to call once receiving contact from you and they are usually very good about rectifying issues in a timely manner.

You use the format of Firstname.Lastname@synchronyfinancial.com. The CEO of Synchrony Bank is Keane, Margaret.
