My partner is AU for her father's chase card and it is bringing her scores down (I mean she is mid 700s but still it hurts) because it is at 93% utilization. If she removes herself as AU should it come off her credit report completely?

if you send a sm on the chase account to remove the au and remove it from all 3 CRAs they will. chase is the best about removing au accounts, just be thankful its not with amex, cap1 or most anyone else

Yes, but she'll also lose the account history. This may or may not matter, depending on the FICO scoring model.

I've heard that Chase is pretty good about removing the account. I've encountered some lenders that drag their feet so I just ask to be removed and then dispute via the bureaus...seems to be a lot faster than waiting on the likes of CapOne etc.

Right but OP was only asking if it "should" come off completely if she removed herself as AU. If she can remove herself and keep the positive account history and show the UTI on her report as 0% then wouldnt that be the best option rather than removing the TL completely? Or are you saying that it will show as closed but with still 93% UTI on that card still after she removes herself as an AU? I'm just curious to know the answer for future reference. I've thought about adding an AU to 1 or 2 of my cards and just would like to know the answer to this .Thanks .

chase is the best as far are removing au's, seamless. if one removes a au on any card it closes the account and will continue to report unless one takes action to get it removed
