So, my sister had quite a few late payments on her credit report... but yesterday, all of a sudden it showed that her grantor closed her las 2 credit cards with debt but her payment history somehow shows 100%. When i go to past accounts ofcourse, i can see all of the information in detail but her score instead of going down... went up 116 points!!!

So im wondering if this is a situation where she got lucky or should i call her cc company and try to prevent her last 2 cards from getting closed?

Closing of the account is not a scoring issue under payment history.

Creditors close a credit card in order to prevent further purchases, and thus increased debt. It is done to limit their potential loss.

It does not remove other account information, such as payment history, current balance, etc., from scoring.

Its effect, if the account is revolving and the balance becomes $0, is the removal of the account from your % util scoring.

If the credit report is now showing no payment history delinquencies, that was updated by voluntary reporting by the creditor.

It could have been a mistake on their part when they submitted the update, or it could have been an intentional deletion for some business reason on their part. Only the creditor can tell you if the deletion was intended, and if so, why.
