RIP Credit Check Total

As some of you may have noticed, the Credit Check Total hack is no longer working. Previously, you were able to get 3B reports for free with a $1 subscription and cancel before Day 7. I just re-subscribed, only to find that the only report you will get now is Experian, which is free from Experian.com anyway. They have not yet updated their homescreen to reflect this change.

CCT IS NO LONGER PROVIDING FREE 3-BUREAU REPORTS!!! Now, you must pay $29.95 to access the other 2 reports and scores (EQ/TU).

Have you experienced this? Or were you still able to get your 3B reports and scores without issue? Let me know!

hard to believe but there is actually a cct blacklist. if you have taken advantage of their offering they shut you down. don't ask me how I know this this was confirmed by a mgr to me and I took is as fact

Can you be more specific here? What constitutes "taken advantage of their offering?"

I've done probably 50 $1 trials at this point, so if anyone has taken advantage of their [$1 trial] offering it has been me. I have never been blacklisted or had any trouble at all doing $1 trials and will be doing another either today or tomorrow.

I just ran my 2nd 3-bureau report of this 7 day trial, electronically cancelled, and come Tuesday will start another.

I've done this maybe ten or so times and every time they welcome me back -- 'twill truly be a sad day when that is no longer the case.

Not only do they welcome you back, but subsequent $1 trials are literally the first thing pushed on someone that has just ended a $1 trial. CCT has created this monster all on their own. If they are concerned about abuse of multiple $1 trials, why is the image below the first thing I see when I log into my account? They make it seem like you won a sweepstakes or are special or something... "Contratulations!" If they were smart they would have some sort of language that thanks you for doing a $1 trial, but then pushes one of their monthly products. Perhaps down at the bottom of the page or buried somewhere else they could give the option to do additional $1 trials or something.

I personally feel no remorse for abusing their system, as Experian could have very easily avoided their actions of literally inviting the abuse.

@Anonymous idea and its really a moot point. clearly based on results cct works for some and not for others anymore. as in life, enjoy the ride. any attempt to access my account fails, creating a new account dings my card and then I have to email them to get it reversed. I have put a fork in this one. the experian $1 trial is the same except for no double dip @ the end so there is that.

I don't think it's a moot point at all. You're implying that "taking advantage" is what's causing CCT to not work for some. My argument is that if I've done 50 trials without incident, unless those that are experiencing issues doing $1 trials have done > 50 trials, it's not the excessive trials that's causing issues. I'd say that the issue then is something else completely, such as some other account-related or maybe security issue. If those that are experiencing trouble doing $1 trials (which I believe is 2 confirmed people so far) have done over 50 trials, it would be meaningful for them to quantify [approximately] how many trials they have done in order to provide a possible end of the road data point.

I find it hard to believe that shutdowns are random; they aren't just going to pull names out of a hat and there needs to be some sort of catalyst. You said there was a thread on this which I clearly missed, so what sort of data was brought forward from those that were shut down? You said abuse can be a factor, but based on my personal experience it's not the factor and clearly more must be at play. It's also worth noting that Experian has been telling people for a year now that they've been winding down the platform. You can find threads dating back a year, 6 months, etc. that CCT is shutting down, it's going away, the plug is getting pulled, etc. We haven't seen it yet.

I didn't miss that thread. In fact, you and I had dialogue back and forth a few times during it. I saw 3-4 people that reported issues with CCT in that thread, but none of them cited "abuse" as being a contributing factor, so I'm not understanding where that idea came from. I don't think that anything is "random" here at all. There's likely a common reason or reasons as to why some accounts are being locked yet the majority aren't. It's like when someone has their CC shut down without warning. When that happens, there's a reason why; it's not "random" as you put it. CCCs don't just pull 10 random accounts out of a hat and close them down. When enough people discuss why, we come up with enough data points to find out what the issue was... a recent late payment reported, ultra high utilization for 6+ months, etc. I'm just saying that abusing many CCT trials (50+) is not the reason for an account shut down, or mine wouldn't be alive today.

CCT very well may be going away, but until it actually does I don't quite understand all the threads (RIP, etc) about it. These threads started in mid-2017 and to this day for every person that is having a CCT-related issue you easily have 10+ that are still regularly doing $1 trials without incident. No doubt a "too good to be true" product that has likely been losing money for a long time will be replaced with something else, but until the majority states that they can no longer access CCT it will continue to be a valuable resource for the vast majority.

If you cancel during your trial and sign up again in the future do you have to use a different username and/or email every time?
