Comenity closed all my accounts.

Sorry if this is in the wrong area. I opened up Barney’s and blue Nile card in the same week and hit the luv button a few times. Everything was approved every time. Then came the hit that they needed verification and I sent all the docs they asked. Today I noticed on my fico that the account seemed closed. I called Barney’s and they said they have closed the account and to reapply. The reason they gave was that the information didn’t match what they have on file. Which is not possible because they only asked for identity and gave them all the docs they asked because there is no identity fraud.

Any ideas on what should I do now

Score are all in the low 700’s is except equifax which is 675

Any advice is appreciated

I see this happen too often here.

A few Q's:

Does your stated income with Comenity match that on your CR?

Have you recently moved? Any marriage or other name change?

This seems quite odd- their stated reason anyway.

I've seen posts where people did get their accounts reinstated so all may not be lost.

ETA: You got the 14 day message when you app'd no? Did they request anything from you during that time?

I just got off the phone with them apparently the cable bill I sent is not acceptable form of proof. I thought cable bill is considered utility bill. The accounts are closed and nothing can be done. They said I have to reapply and I am wondering if I am black listed there now in case I want to apply in the future.

That sucks.. That's such a silly reason too-

I doubt you would be blacklisted over this...

Rotten they couldn't notify you and request alternate documents.

Unfortunately, if something doesn't match up with the information they have on file plus if they are using other consumer reporting resources (e.g. SageStream), that pretty much puts the nail in the coffin.

However, that being said, you can always reapply in the future as this does not place you on a blacklist with Comenity.

I had to secure email POI to NFCU today. Funny since all income is direct deposit with Navy, How does the CR obtain and verify it's valid?..I've pulled my CR's and I don't see anywhere POI....is this another CR beside the main 3? Just a question....never heard of this....if they doubt I've always

There's a ton specializing in different things. LexisNexis, Sagestream, chexsystems, etc.

That's strange.. The only thing I can think is the UW for credit may not have access to your deposit accounts.

CR's gather this info from what's reported to them, I suppose. Same way they get address changes etc..

We all state income on apps so I imagine they get it from there. That's just a guess.

On my CR's the income is correct, a little under as that's how I've always supplied it when asked.

And YES as posted above there are a LOT of other, less known reporting agencies.

IMO with Comenity being blacklisted is a badge of honor. Don't fall for the "you can always reapply" - yeah you can but in 99% of the cases, you will still be denied and but still suffer additional hard pulls.

I'm fairly sure I saw it on one of the reports I received last year..

Maybe I imagined it lol but I would swear it was there...

If you say it's not on them, perhaps I'm recalling it incorrectly.. I'll try to find the stack I had and see if it's there.

Could it be on a Dun & Bradstreet for my business?

This is so odd.. I found some of my reports.. And everything ELSE is there but not income..

Perhaps my brain just recalls it wrong.. It's been many months ago that I obtained the report hard copies..
