MyFico updates - ?

Hi everyone,

New to the forum. I just joined MyFico and had a question. When you join it shows what your score is. However, it only gives you an update once a month? Or if I'm paying credit cards down, does it show as credit cards and loans are reported? For exmaple I also have experian.com and each time something is reported it shows and I don't have to wait a month.

Hi, welcome to myFICO forum. It's a great place, good people here.

MyFICO scores do not update like Experian's EX info does. MyFICO does (at least they can) update during the month when new info is pushed to them. Updates can be just info, not always a score change. TU & EQ seem better about updates than EX. For me, EX usually only updates when there is a score decrease... like for inquiry or new account dings.

Welcome, OP.

I believe that with MF you can only rely on the one update each month.

You will however receive "alerts" at times and at that time will be provided with a new score. Certain events are alertable where others arent. Paying off an account definitely is, also new/lower reported balances I believe trigger alerts.

The only thing that updates continuously through the month are your FICO 8 scores from all 3 bureaus. You'll have to wait until next month for all of your other scores to update.
