Credit Bureaus that each bank pulls for app?

Once upon a time, I remember there being a post with a list of banks and which credit bureas they pull for apps/CLI

Does anyone know where that went?

No, don't know anything about a post, but if you Google "Credit Pulls Database" you'll find a link to a very useful tool...

I am really not looking forward to OP coming back to the thread later screaming about how the CPD was wrong about which bureau would be pulled.

There are no guarantees and its subject to human input error/reporting on its own. Full of flaws, heck people report Cap One cards with just TU pulls when we all know Cap One ALWAYS pulls all three.

But OP was originally searching for a forum post that existed "once upon a time", which is also subject to human error and inaccuracy - not to mention, the creditors' freedom to change app procedures at any given time. Thus, there is very little difference between the two sources.

The only definite way to know is to contact the creditor directly and ask the question. Any action other than that is taken at one's own risk.

FWIW, CPD has been accurate each time I've used it. And many of the *comments* for Cap1 CPD entries indicate that all 3 bureaus were pulled.

I mean i know theres useful info there, ive referenced it enough, but it alone is not the wisest source of information. General idea? Yeah sure, but no better than Doctorofcredit or anything else out there, IMO.

Haha..That is true..(re the idiot on the next line). I did not declare (or intend to implicate) the tool as more or less useful than any other site, I simply pointed in its direction as a rather useful resource - which I believe it to be.

I appreciate both of your inputs on this! I'm not going on a spree anytime soon haha. I'm just doing my research and planning while waiting for my BK7 discharge. And you've both helped a ton! Thank you!

Earlier this week I saw a spreadsheet that had been put together that showed which bureaus were pulled for different banks/credit cards. Now I can’t seem to locate it. Can any of you guys point me in the right directions?

Unless it is constantly updated the list will likely be flawed. The issuer may negotiate a better cost on the pulls, and change which CRA they pull from. Sometimes it can even be different based on the region.

True. Also, even those who are consistent at pulling a particular CRA (such as Synch and TU romance, they have been known to pull EX at times) can and will occasionally stray. Depending on profile strength (or weakness), there could be a second HP from an alternate bureau.

Sometimes it really does not matter which CRA will get a HP because there is a pretty good chance at least one other will be a SP.

I find those databases to be quite useless. Want a card? Apply for one. HP is just a cost of doing business.

If one has so many that's becoming a concern, the cure is to stop applying.

Some get approved with 30+ pulls, other cant get approval with two. Entire profile holds by far more weight than number of pulls.

Remedios, I totally agree. The only reasons I can think of for needing to know which CRA is pulled is A) Because you have too many inqueries at 1 CRA, or B) Your score is such that you might be declined if pulled from the wrong CRA. Both of these reasons should cause you to question whether you should apply for the credit at all. The one exception is if the lender has a habit of 3B hard pulls, but that is easy to check. I do not care which one they pull, but I prefer to not apply if they pull all 3. I think Capital One does this. That would of course result in a score drop due to inqueries at all 3.

Cap1 is the only one that I know of doing a triple pull, but Chase double pulled for me twice, so two cards, four pulls.

It was worth it in the end.

If you looked at my EX, it looks like a war zone. EQ has crickets and not much else. TU only has those two Chase pulls.

Unfortunately, any card I am interested in will involve EX. It's as if they have a sale for my geographic area 😒
