But, most theorize the breakpoint is between 10-15 years. Wish you had before and after scores for the variants. If so, can you see if any other variants changed. I'd really expect more of a point change for that. What was your before and after AAoA?

My DW and my own VS3 move around more than Fico8, but only by a few points. VS3 does seem to be a little more sensitive to minor changes than Fico8 does.

However, our VS4 is like a pinball bouncing all over the place. Even though our VS3 may change 1 or 2 points during a week (thru multiple sources, not just CK), the VS4 that Synchrony displays moves up and down wildly (doing a pull every day or two with the enroll/unenroll trick). I just don't see how a lender would want to trust VS4 with the wild swings I'm seeing (100+ points within a week's time).

I didn't get the big jump with VS3 at FICO's aging of AoYA 3mo - it happened the following month, when all the VS3 CMSs showed AoYA 3mo and AAoA (only open accts) 3mo (FICO AoYA 4mo).

My VS3 age is always a month behind FICO's, and the 3 and 6 month gains with VS3 came at FICO AoYA 4mo and 7mo. I'm using the score gains alone.

It's always good when the FICO is higher. I had similar issue. Had a BK removed and my VS dropped over 40 points. Of course, FICO went up so my FICO was higher than VS.

Vantage is a joke. I agree. I have a collection and some 120 day lates, all occurring in the past 2 years, but Vantage has me at an excellent score rating. Fico 9 has me pretty high because all my debts are paid. Fico 8, which I think gives the most accurate ratings, still has me at fair, which is where I deserve to be.

VantageScore 3.0 has always been laughable to me, especially once I got out of being quagmired at around 700 FICO 8 scores due to high utilization.

Mine are typically about 60-100 points lower than my FICO 8 scores, and it's always funny to see when they dip down into the upper 600s since I have a very thick profile with utilization under control and no derogatory information ever in my life. I also occasionally get the "credit card balance reduced by $83 TransUnion +47 points" alerts.

What really hurts me about them is when they are wrong in the other direction for other people. Since I discovered myFICO, I've read many denial threads where someone was surprised to be turned down for credit when they had good or excellent credit according to Credit Karma, only to later find out they have FICO 8 scores in the 500s or 600s.

Then there are those rare, lucky few people here whose VS3 scores closely follow their FICO 8 scores.
