Be aware amex has tried to hp Experian (blocked) for a.u, and existing member applications

So i got an offer for 5000 MR's to add an a.u, so i tried, and got a wierd message its under review. Then Experian alert they blocked the hard pull. Its wierd bcuz they called and asked me to unblock it i obv didnt, but they sp me like everyday. Just a heads up..

^^That's what I was thinking too because usually they will do a hp if there is.

Just fyi, Amex is doing nothing shady by trying to pull credit. Even though most people assume if you are an Amex member they will no longer pull your credit when applying for credit, i have gotten pulled back to back on my last 2 applications. If they were trying to pull your credit, they must feel it is warranted. I wouldnt deny Amex too much

Agreed. If they're pulling it, its for a reason.

A HP to extend credit is one thing, but this is about adding an AU which shouldn't need a HP from the card holder to accomplish.

Possible SP or even HP on the AU I can see, since they do want the SSN of said person.

When I added an AU there was no HP associated with it either time.

It likely has to do with OP's accounts with Amex as per the "pending/review" issue, so I think there may be more going on that we're not aware of.

Sorry - should have been more clear. This is what I meant when I said if they're doing it, it's for a reason.
