Paying off kohl’s

Good evening. I hope everyone is doing well in these strange times. I had a question about my kohl's account. They are pretty stubborn about their pay for deletion. I don't really owe a crazy amount (385). My question is should I just pay it off? Will that hurt my score now ? It's not set to come off for another 1 and a half. Thanks

It will hurt your score until it reports as $0 balance. Once that happens, it should stop updating and your scores won't be brought back down by it every month.

So if I pay it off in full and it reports zero balance I should be good?

If by "good", you mean delete, that's not happening.

If you dont pay it, it will keep your scores suppressed for as long as it's reporting.

Additionally, eventually it will be forwarded to collections, then you will have double whammy and double pain.

Pay it.
