Collections and Points

I had a collection that went on my report the Middle of June 2007 and I have a letter where it was put on in error since it was paid by its due date and in computer error it was sent to Collections and put on my credit report. one that is removed do you know what kind of points if any I may get for this.

It's not that simple. How many TL's do you have, are there other derogs, how long is your credit history, and what is your FICO now, before removing the Collection?

This is my only collection and I have a BK that will Be 7 yrs old tomarrow. My credit history is 12 yrs old. I have 2 open creit cards and 1 auto loan but that has nothing to do with having this collection removed. I am just asking about how many points do you normally see when you get a collection that new removed.

It's difficult to say how many points you might gain if this collection is deleted. I think it's safe to say you should see your scores rise especially since this looks like a new collection.

yes this is a really new one it was put on the end of June and I had already paid the hospital but due to a computer glitch they called it. They sent it to collections and then on my report. I did not even know about it until our lender told us the Friday before we were supose to close on our house that we could not do it because when he did his last pull they found that.

OUch! Which CRA is reporting it? So this was your debt and it's PIF? Explain the hospital glitch?

They never said what the real glitch was just some lame excuse that they had the wrong billing address on that account and I did not respond to the letter. I told the guy there was no need to respond even if they had the right address since the bill was paid. I knew I would have a bill coming and since I did not recieve one 45 days after service I called the hospital and she gave me my total and it was 158.76 for them and the ER DR was 58.66 So I sent a check to the ER DR and Paid the hospital bill by dept card. She Faxed me over a reciept to the office I work at and I did not think any thing of it until it went on my credit. Its not like they did not have my number (by the way they did and my cell as well) Now I need 30 points to get into our home.
