Helping a friend build his credit

Hello all, I searched and could not fine it.

My friends Experian looks GREAT but his EQ,TU don't.

I was suggesting to him to ask for a CLI for his discover card, but could not figure if they generally pull from Experian usually for a NY resident.

Does anyone happen to know?

Discover CLI have usually been SP's but that also depends on how long the account has been open. If his scores are lagging on 2 of the 3 bureaus, he might want to pull his reports and dispute any inaccuracies. Any other details that can be provided can help the community provide more insights.

Am I reading the image correctly that his EQ is 778 and you are considering that to be "not great"?

If he already has a Discover card, it is very likely that they will soft pull Transunion for a CLI.

778 is still a great score, but something seems to be keeping it down if his Experian is 837. Like someone else mentioned, go through his credit reports with him to see if something is different or off.
