Evening My FICO friends! Can anyone chime in on Citizen Bank...Has anyone here on My FICO done business with this Company? I got an offer with RSVP number and 0% 21 months balance transfer offer Apr 5.99% after 21 months

The only 0% 21-month balance transfer offer used to be the Citi Simplicity Credit Card. Now, it offers 0% for 18 months on balance transfers. It also gives 0% for 18 months on purchases. Having so much time to pay off a balance transfer without interest can certainly help a lot of people pay off their debt. That being said, Citi Simplicity balance transfers aren’t totally free. There’s a 3% (min $5) balance transfer fee, which could end up being a lot of money if you’re transferring a big balance.

Another good balance transfer credit card is the U.S. Bank Visa Platinum Credit Card, which offers 0% for 20 months on balance transfers with a balance transfer fee of 3% (min $5). That could make a balance transfer worth it, depending on the size of your debt and its current APR.

The rule of thumb to keep in mind is that a balance transfer should make it cheaper overall to pay off a debt. For a zero-interest balance transfer deal, if the new card’s transfer fee is more expensive than the interest you would have paid on the old card in the same payoff timeframe, you shouldn’t bother doing the transfer.

I have, but only for student loans that get serviced by Firstmark. They have the best rates for me, loyalty discount, and customer support answers quickly and speaks clearly so no issues at all!

They're a regional headquartered in Providence RI (my office is within walking distance of their HQ), a friend of mine used to work for them and FWIW I know that he liked them as an employer.

They're fairly conservative with CL, you have to wait at least 9 months before they would consider a CLI request and CLI requests trigger a HP. Their website is servicable but a bit funky, it doesn't have a seamless integration between deposit and credit accounts. Not as bad as say TD Bank though.

I have their Cash Back Plus card which is their better card but given the terms quoted I am guessing they are offering you the Clear Value Mastercard.

If the snail mail specifically says "You're pre-approved!" with opt-out language it's a pretty solid offer, otherwise treat it as an invitation to apply.

If you haven't had any HPs or new accounts reported over the last 2 months or so i.e. whenever it was that the screening soft pull was made your odds of approval although not 100% should be quite good.

I pulled up an old report I saved as I've had the card more than 2 years and confirmed that when I got my CashBack Plus card they pulled EQ.
