topic Collection - Timeshare in General Credit Topics

So I made the mistake of buying a timeshare over 15 years ago with Westgate Blue Tree. I still owe money on the mortgage for it. I have not done anything with it in over 10 years. I haven't paid any maintenance fees either. There's been a collection on my credit report from Pinnacle Recovery for years. I think it's for maintenance fees. I have had zero communication with Pinnacle in years. If I settle it, what happens to the mortgage? Will they have me back on the hook for it? Does anyone have any experience with this? I just want out from the whole thing.

In my opinion, what do you need to do is leave the thing alone and allow it to age off your credit report.

it’s past the statute of limitations most likely for the mortgage and maintenance fees. the best thing you can do is leave it alone.

Pull your annualcreditreport.com reports to find out when it drops off.
