Change in Experian Freeze Process

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this, or may be a bug with blind screen readers and Experian site.

Experian recently changed the Freeze section. It's so much easier, and fewer steps involved. However, the schedule seems to start on next day, and can't choose todays date. Just wondering if that's the case for others.

The phone process still allows an immediate thaw. It might be a coding error with screen readers, if that's the case, I'll report to Experian tech support.

Just went through this when i applied for my chase amazon card . What i had to do is just remove the freeze completely do my app and then freeze again. If you try to do a thaw then it will want you the schedule for next day etc .

Thanks for confirming this @Fico82!! The process is less than intuitive, and a bit cumbersome. At least you no longer have to enter name, address, birthdate and code. They could take notes from EQ and TU though, both have a quick and easy process.

@blindambition i agree i do like this new way of doing it. Just wish they kept the pin codes . I feel a little more secure with it .

Looking foward Hopefully they add 2 factor authentication that be nice across all 3 companies for logging in.

Same here when I applied for the Chase Amazon card.

I noticed the EX freeze/thaw process was much easier, but it took some time for it to actually thaw for me. I tried doing a prequal from Amazon on the Chase card about 15 mins after thawing, and it kept saying my EX was still frozen. Tried again about an hour later, same thing. Kept trying until Amazon wouldn't allow any more checks because I had tried too many times. May have been a glitch with the Amazon prequal link, but it worked for my DD just fine. I had to go in blind with the Chase Amazon app without ever getting the prequal to work for me.

Yea i have been through that as well . I always tell my self that i need to thaw and wait till next day to apply but then my impatience kicks in lol
