Capital One - Authorized User

So Im an AU on someone's 12 year old capital one card and this is the second month in a row it continues not to report to Experian. My question to the community is can i call capital one and request them to report it to Experian ?

1. Do you know or have a cordial relationship with the primary card owner? When you reach out to the credit bureau, they may ask you questions about this. So you must be prepared with accurate information.

2. If, you know the primary owner ask them to make the contact and request changes.

3. Was this a aged tradeline purchase? What agreement/ contract is there between the seller of the tradeline and you?

4. If, there is an agreement please read it carefully, it usually contains language that says "Do Not Contact" the credit bureas or the Primary card owner about the tradeline.

@gendelmel this is one of my friends who did me a favor , no purchase was necessary thankfully... but you think it would be better for him to call cap1 and ask to push it through to experian on my behalf?

It's good that it's your friend.

1. There is a way to work through this issue. It may take a bit of time but should be worth it.

2. Does your friend have or can they get access to a copy of that Authorized User Agreement used to add you to their card? if so,

3. Have them send you a copy of that AU agreement with CapOne.

4. Both of you should examine the language in that agreement.

5. If the language has too much ambiguity in it, you need it clarified.

6. You need language that clearly indicates the primary card owner's experience with that account, becomes yours as well.

7. If this is not indicated within the language. The next step would be to communicate with the company (CapOne) via writing and get clarification.

8. Remember, the AU agreement is between the primary card owner and Capital One.

9. Does the credit bureau have the authority to breach an agreement between the primary card owner and CapitalOne?

10. If you both spend the time and prevail in getting the information you need, you may be pleasantly surprised at the results.

Its still on your file. If nothing has changed util %-wise. No harm. Eventually it will pop. If need be. Let the owner do the disputing. Or wait it out.

One additional reason that some want to be added is Age of account. This addition if of significant age, is critical in effecting the credit score positively.

@gendelmel this is exactly why - its a 12 year old positive account - it boosted my age on TU and EQ but because its not appearing on experian my AAoA on there is signifcantly lower

When you say it's not appearing on your Experian.

1. Do you mean totally gone?

2. Is it just the age of that 12-year old AU account that's no longer being calculated? Therefor, no longer benefitting your credit score?

@gendelmel @FireMedic1 nah my friend didnt remove me hes my boss at work so i see him everyday lol . and when i say its not showing up i mean its not being reported to experian . It is being reported to TU and EQ and it appears in my reports there but it still hasn't appeared as a "new account" on Experian , therefore its not being counted toward anything .

Im trying to figure out how to get it to report to all 3 - its been a couple of months now since i was added theres no harm waiting more time i was just trying to see if there was a way to accelerate this in case it just never shows up in the future

LOL!!!!!! I was responding to a poster who wanted to know if Comenity reports AU's. I hit reply and it landed here as the other thread I was in was being moved. Too funny. I wondered where my reply went. In your thread!!!!!!!!
