Discover denied me a personal loan...

Unless I'm getting dinged for being self-employed, I don't get it...
According to them: Credit score is 734

KeyFactor1 NUMBER OF ACCOUNTS WITH DELINQUENCY (I have *one* 30-day late payment *six* years ago!)

KeyFactor2 LACK OF RECENT INSTALLMENT LOAN INFORMATION (I haven't had one in awhile)

KeyFactor3 TOO FEW ACCOUNTS CURRENTLY PAID AS AGREED (I have Cap One Visa, AX, Discover)

KeyFactor4 % OF BALANCES TO CREDIT LIMITS HIGH ON BANK OR OTHER REVOLVING ACCTS (I pay in full every month!)

Thoughts?

Did you actually speak with anyone? AKA a supervisor?

Your signature is showing lower credit scores. You also claim no CC. I'm a bit confused. How old are your accounts?

Also, banks are less inclined to loan money right now due to the current ecconomic conditions - people buying groceries on installment loans, people defaulting on their car loans and to a lesser extent on mortgages just to name a few. I currently have a Disco loan. I have used Disco for two other home improvement loans in the past. I have never missed a payment. About 3 weeks ago Disco reached out to me to encourage me to apply for a loan up to the amount I had already paid off with the possibility of the new loan being rolled into my existing loan. It was perfect timing because I am in the process of having new windows installed in my house and the amount I paid off was close enough to what I needed to borrow. When I applied online I received a message to call to finish up the process. When I called I was informed that Disco would not give me the entire loan amount but only about 2/3 of what I requested and that it would be a new loan (another hard pull) with a new interest rate (current rate is 6%). I declined and was told that a letter citing the reason why the entire loan amount was not approved and rolled into my existing loan would follow. Got the letter a week later. The ONLY reason cited by Disco was that I was not using enough of the current credit limit on my Disco card. I use the card for streaming services and use about .5% of the total CL.

Current credit scores are all over 800, perfect payment history, excellent debt to credit ratio, excellent mix of credit, etc.

Yesterday, I got another email from Disco offering me the same deal. I deleted the email. I know my story is anecdotal but it may help others understand how Disco is operating at the moment.

I've been denied CLIs twice by Discover, both for not utilizing my current available credit enough. I have a couple of montly recurring charges - a fraction of one percent of my total line. Triple 850s.

Looking at your factors,

(1) the late is a **bleep**, but it will age off soon.

(2) you need a loan and they turned you down, drat. I don't suppose an ssl is an option.

(3) you have three ccs, that should be enough.

(4) pif doesn't do it, look up azeo thread.

I know this reply is quite late. I was denied the other day with 3 inquiries in the last 60 days. Pulled a 784 score Equifax, open Discover credit card $13500 limit with 0 balance. Credit utilization was 17% and been a customer with them since February 2017 no late payments with them or anyone on my credit. The denial letter had one reason of too many recent inquiries
