Delayed reporting

Hello,

New here to the forum. Looking to apply for a mortgage soon and currently dealing with reporting delays with EX and EQ for both of my Cap1 cards. Statement date on one was 9/14 and 9/19 and neither have updated yet. Spoke to Cap1 and they verified updates were sent to all 3 credit bureaus. Anyone else experiencing this?

Equifax is 7 months behind on my payments for parent plus loans, haven't updated my payments since February.

Did you pull updated reports?

O yea, I have an Experian account that I check daily and checked updated Equifax today also. No updates as of yet.

Well that is odd. I can't speak to EQ but my EX updates fast. Then again, I don't have Capital One.

I recently got a cap one card, they waited until almost the 3rd full month to do their first report with me.

statment closed on 9/24, 9/26 transunion updated. Updates for equifax and Experian haven't happened yet.

This does help! Yea TU updated for me too but still nothing from the others. Called Cap1 to make sure they report to all 3 bureaus and they verified they do. Seems to be a lag issue with EX and EQ just no idea why. Applying for mortgage next month so extremely frustrating!! Hope you get updates soon on the other two!

it's now been about a week since my new cap on card posted on TransUnion, and it still hasn't posted on equifax or Experian.

when my chase card hit my account, it hit TU first as well, but it hit equifax and experienced within a day or so after hitting TU.

but for some reason capital one is taking it's sweet time reporting to exp and equifax.

So odd, still nothing for me either. I called Cap1 and they assured me numerous times that they have reported to all 3 bureaus even giving me the exact day and time the updates were sent. Supervisor told me since TU has updated, that is verification that they've done their job and reported to all 3. They say it's EX and EQ that's not updating. Beyond frustrating!

When they report to the bureaus it's all computerized, otherwise they would need someone to sit there and manually send each persons info to all 3 bureaus one at a time for every one of their customers.

I wonder if there's some sort of computer glitch?

good point; I've had Cap1 since April 2022 and have never had a skipped month on reporting from any of the bureaus. I also called EX last week wondering if there may be some sort of issue but they said no issue they know of.. just no update

Didn't you say the statements closed on 9/14 and 9/19 or something?

which card reported just now? I'm assuming the one that closed on the 14th, but **bleep** that's 2 full weeks after the statement closed.

i don't have this issue with any other card issuer, with credit one and chase 1 of the bureaus always updates the day after the statement closes and then the other 2 are usually a day behind, 2 max.

but for some reason cap one takes 2 weeks to report? Weird

Yep 9/14 and 9/19. They actually both updated. Same for me with Chase, it's always like the day after statement closes. Even for this month Chase closed on the 19th and on the 20th it updated with all 3 bureaus. No clue what's going on with Cap1. 2 weeks is unheard of! At least for me lol

may be something may be nothing, but I've noticed 2 huge coincidences

1) today is the 30th/ the last day of the month. So I wonder is that has anything to do with the fact that you just got updated? Perhaps capital one reports to certain bureaus on certain days?

like as an example maybe they report to equifax on the 30th

and experian on the 15th of the month

and they report to transunion when your statement closes?

Doing this would put a lot less strain on their computer system, since having to report to all 3 bureaus on the same day probably takes a ton of processing power. Think about it,

They are a huge company with tons of customers, say 100,000 customers have statements close on 9/14, then 25,000 close on 9/15, then 50,000 close on 9/16. Every day their computers are reporting something and taking bandwith and resources. So they decided to split up the reporting into 3 separate days so they could give the comouters 3 designated days and let them just focus on reporting for those days.

2) the second coincidence is that both of us experienced the same issue, transunion updated first with the other 2 lagging behind, and we were both waiting on experian and equifax

I actually read somewhere about your first theory. The article said some lenders report to certain bureaus on certain dates but didn't specify if it meant they have a report date to ALL bureaus or like you said.. updates go out to certain bureaus on certain days.

Let's just hope we are both all caught up here pretty soon, seems like when I wasn't heavily monitoring the updates were just flowing and now that I am watching like a hawk they want to fiddle around ha ha

Well, it's officially been a week since my statement closed and I still haven't gotten updated from Experian or Equifax.

i tried To call capital one, and the guy was not at all helpful, he told me that it's their policy to report to all 3 bureaus but was unwilling to check into my account to see if my account had been reported yet. He said "he doesn't see why it wouldn't be reported to all 3, so there's no point in checking"

I told him it's been a week since my statement closed and it's never taken longer than 1-3 days for the reporting to happen. And he told me to call the bureaus cause they have no control over what the bureaus do.

so I told him that doesn't make any sense, I had a chase card report right around the same time as my capital one. Why would the bureaus choose to update all 3 bureaus for chase, but only 1 updated for capital one? And why would they report on time every month and then suddenly decide they wanted to wait a week.

completely waste of time even trying to reason with the guy.

They aren't helpful at all, I had to call about 4 times just to get to the guy who finally told me the date and time they sent the update. Made the mistake of then telling the next rep that TU updated and he said "that's the proof right there that they did their job". Still nothing from EX for me. Bill is due 10/8 so at this point I'm just hoping EX updates for the month of October!

@Pumpkin24Lately with my Capital One cards I see updates for TU and EQ within 2-3 days after my statement closes, while EX is 3-5 days later (and in one case was 8 days later - my VX statement closed on 9/7, but no Experian update until 9/19). All of my longest waits for EX to update have been on this one card (I have 4 C1 cards) and have no clue why.
